Mohamed Salah’s agent provides update on forward’s future

Mohamed Salah’s agent, Ramy Abbas Issa, has offered an update regarding the future of the former Liverpool forward. Abbas stated on social media that the next destination for his client could be known soon.

Salah concluded his nine-year tenure at Anfield this summer. His agent previously indicated that discussions with clubs are only held if Salah is genuinely interested in playing for them.

Speculation and interest

The Egypt international’s future has been the subject of ongoing speculation. Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal has been mentioned as a potential front-runner. Additionally, teams from Major League Soccer in the United States and Turkish clubs Galatasaray, Fenerbahce, and Besiktas have reportedly shown interest.

Despite the interest, reports suggest that Salah’s financial demands may be a deterrent for some Saudi clubs. According to one report, these demands could be pricing him out of a move to the Saudi Pro League.

Agent’s previous statements

Abbas has made several social media posts regarding Salah’s situation. On May 24, he posted, “We do not know where Mohamed will play next season. This also means that no one else knows. Beware of the click-w****** attention seekers.”

He followed this on June 12 with another post: “Mohamed is doing perfectly fine and neither he nor I prefer to discuss sensitive future plans with people not involved in them. Both he and I are very private about these things. Yes, people may ask and they may get a standard polite response but that’s about it.”

The latest update from Abbas on social media indicates that while the next club is not yet known, an announcement could be imminent.

Other transfer news

In other transfer news, Bayern Munich has reportedly informed Real Madrid that France forward Michael Olise, 24, is not available for transfer this summer. Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund and Germany attacker Karim Adeyemi, 24, is reportedly set to join Barcelona in a 31m euros (£26m) deal.

Arsenal and Liverpool are said to be in a transfer battle for RB Leipzig and Netherlands defender Lutsharel Geertruida, 25, who spent last season on loan at Sunderland. Manchester City and Tottenham are reportedly interested in Portuguese winger Francisco Trincao, 26, and could potentially intercept his 50m euro (£42.6m) move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Ahli from Sporting.

Greece centre-back Konstantinos Mavropanos, 28, is attracting interest from several Premier League teams and clubs across Europe following his performance at relegated West Ham.

Como is hoping to sign Colombia defender Davison Sanchez, 30, but Galatasaray’s 30m euros (£25.6m) asking price could be a hurdle. Manchester United is also seeking a goalkeeper to compete with Belgian Senne Lammens, 24, and may consider Paraguay’s Orlando Gill, 26, who reportedly has a £5.2m release clause at Argentine club San Lorenzo.

Newcastle United’s chances of acquiring England goalkeeper James Trafford, 23, from Manchester City have improved as Aston Villa, a potential rival, aims to retain their number one goalkeeper, Argentine Emiliano Martinez, 33. However, Chelsea is also reportedly interested in Trafford.

New Benfica boss Marco Silva is looking to sign his former Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha, 31, and a 25m euro (£21.3m) bid is reportedly being prepared to bring the Portugal international from Bayern Munich following his loan at Tottenham last season.
